About us

Easy Everyday Recipes for Dinners, Sides, Sweets and Drinks

Foodie Front is a collection of home-cooking recipes built around everyday ingredients and realistic schedules. You will find weeknight dinners, side dishes for holiday tables, quick desserts and homemade drinks, all written as step-by-step instructions with times, temperatures and notes on what to swap if your pantry is missing something.

What You Will Find, Category by Category

Mains

The Mains category is the largest on the site and covers family dinners, slow cooker meals, casseroles, baked fish, pasta and steak. Examples include Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie, Slow Cooker Chicken Chili and Cheesy Chicken Broccoli Bake. If you cook ahead for the week, look at the meal prep recipes such as Easy Ground Beef Prep.

Sides

In Sides, the recipes are meant to round out a plate without taking over your evening. Homemade Coleslaw, Bake Onions and Peppers and Lentils in the Rice Cooker are typical examples. Sweet potato sides, salads and seasoning blends also live here, and many of them can be made a day ahead.

Sweets

The Sweets category ranges from cookies like Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies and Blueberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies to no-bake treats such as Chocolate Almond Bark and Peanut Butter Protein Fudge. You will also find zucchini bread, ice cream and chocolate desserts for when a simple cookie will not do.

Drinks

The Drinks category includes smoothies, teas, sodas and seasonal sippers, for example Strawberry Banana Smoothie, Vanilla Cream Soda, Pumpkin Spice Milk and Cantaloupe Smoothie with Greek Yogurt. Most take only a few minutes and use a blender or a pitcher.

Browse by Season and Theme

If you would rather start from an ingredient or an occasion, the themed collections group recipes together. Current collections include:

  • Easy watermelon and cantaloupe recipes for summer
  • Easy fall meals for cozy nights
  • Energy smoothies and high protein breakfasts
  • Weekly meal prep and crockpot casseroles
  • Party appetizers, chocolate desserts and homemade seasoning blends

How to Get the Best Results From a Recipe

A few habits make almost any recipe go more smoothly:

  • Read the whole recipe first. Check the ingredient list, equipment and total time before you start, so nothing surprises you halfway through.
  • Treat times as a guide. Ovens, stovetops and slow cookers vary. Start checking a few minutes early and go by color, texture and temperature rather than the clock alone.
  • Use a thermometer for meat. Poultry should reach 165°F (74°C) and ground meat 160°F (71°C) at the thickest part. Steaks, fish and other cuts have their own safe ranges, so check current USDA guidance if you are unsure.
  • Swap with care. Many recipes suggest substitutions, such as Greek yogurt for sour cream or another melon in a melon salad. Keep in mind that baking is less forgiving than soups or stir-fries, so change one thing at a time.
  • Check allergens yourself. Ingredient lists reflect the recipe as written. Always read the labels on packaged products, since brands differ.

Storing and Reheating Leftovers

Refrigerate cooked food within two hours, or within one hour on a hot day, and keep it in shallow, covered containers so it cools quickly. Most cooked dishes keep three to four days in the refrigerator. Casseroles and soups freeze well, while crisp items such as fried chicken skins or fresh coleslaw are best eaten soon after making. Reheat leftovers until steaming hot throughout, and bring soups and sauces to a boil.

How the Recipes Are Prepared

Each recipe is developed and edited for clear steps, realistic times and temperatures, ingredient substitutions and food-safety notes. Cooking varies from kitchen to kitchen, so use your own judgement, adjust seasoning to taste and confirm doneness with a thermometer.

Recipes are published under four author profiles, each with a focus area: Rachel Bennett on comfort mains and family dinners, Derek Sullivan on bold flavors and creative sides, Megan Crawford on quick sweets and easy desserts, and Tyler Morrison on refreshing and healthy drinks.
