Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz vanilla vodka
  • 0.5 oz amaretto
  • 3 oz chilled pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz grenadine syrup
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  • 1 fresh pineapple wedge

Instructions:

  1. Chill the glass. Place your martini glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. Note: Cold glass keeps the drink crisp until the very last sip.
  2. Measure the spirits. Add 1.5 oz vanilla vodka and 0.5 oz amaretto into the shaker.
  3. Add the fruit base. Pour in 3 oz chilled pineapple juice. Note: Chilled juice prevents the ice from melting too fast.
  4. Ice it up. Fill the shaker 3/4 full with large ice cubes.
  5. Shake vigorously. Shake for 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels frosty and stings your hands.
  6. Strain carefully. Pour the mixture into your chilled glass. The liquid should look opaque and frothy.
  7. Perform the Gravity Drop. Slowly pour 0.5 oz grenadine down the side of the glass. Note: Don't stir; let it sink naturally to the bottom.
  8. Add the garnish. Drop the maraschino cherry into the center.
  9. Final touch. Slide the fresh pineapple wedge onto the rim.
  10. Serve immediately. Enjoy while the layers are distinct and the foam is thick.
