Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced or minced
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large 12-inch heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the green beans and cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes until the skins begin to blister and show small brown spots.
- Add 2 tablespoons of water to the hot pan and immediately cover with a tight-fitting lid. Let the beans steam for 2–3 minutes until they are vibrant green and crisp-tender.
- Remove the lid and allow any remaining water to evaporate. Reduce heat to medium and add the butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Toss constantly for 1–2 minutes until the garlic is golden. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice before serving.
