Ingredients:
- 1 cup unfiltered apple cider
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 shots bold espresso
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp caramel sauce
- whipped cream
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10–12 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half and looks glossy. Stir in the butter at the very end until melted and smooth.
- Pull two shots of espresso or brew a concentrated coffee. While the coffee is steaming hot, stir in 2 tablespoons of the warm caramel apple syrup.
- Heat milk to roughly 150°F (65°C). Use a frother to create a dense, tight-bubbled foam with a 'wet paint' appearance.
- Drizzle caramel sauce around the inside walls of a mug. Pour the espresso-syrup mixture into the center. Slowly pour the frothed milk over the top, letting the foam settle naturally. Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon.
