Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unfiltered apple cider
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 shots bold espresso
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp caramel sauce
  • whipped cream
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10–12 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half and looks glossy. Stir in the butter at the very end until melted and smooth.
  2. Pull two shots of espresso or brew a concentrated coffee. While the coffee is steaming hot, stir in 2 tablespoons of the warm caramel apple syrup.
  3. Heat milk to roughly 150°F (65°C). Use a frother to create a dense, tight-bubbled foam with a 'wet paint' appearance.
  4. Drizzle caramel sauce around the inside walls of a mug. Pour the espresso-syrup mixture into the center. Slowly pour the frothed milk over the top, letting the foam settle naturally. Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon.
