Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) apple cider (unfiltered)
  • 2 tbsp (25g) brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 tsp (0.5g) ground nutmeg
  • 12 oz (355ml) chilled cream soda or cola
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) vanilla syrup
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Combine apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, and nutmeg in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–12 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half and appears syrupy. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a small jar to remove the cinnamon stick and nutmeg particles.
  3. Fill a 16 oz glass to the brim with ice. Pour in the vanilla syrup followed by the chilled cream soda or cola, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  4. Slowly pour the apple pie syrup over the top, followed by the heavy cream to create a marbling effect.
